Twelve Sagrex production sites have recently been awarded CSC certification for their sustainability efforts. This covers all of Sagrex’s limestone, sandstone and porphyry quarries in Belgium, as well as its sandpit in the Netherlands.
Following audits organized by the independent certification body SGS, the Sagrex sites located in Marche-les-Dames, Lustin, Quenast, Deest, Engis, Moha, Beez, Aisemont, Monceau-sur-Sambre and Antoing (Cimescaut and Lemay) have obtained CSC supply chain certification for aggregates at the level Gold. The Tellier-des-Prés site, which Sagrex owns in partnership with Pierre Bleue Belge, obtained CSC supply chain certification for aggregates at the level Bronze.
“With achieving CSC certification for all its production sites, Sagrex successfully contributes to the sustainable development of the aggregate sector in Belgium and the Netherlands”, says Rob Huydts, Senior Environmental Sustainability and ISO-Systems manager for HeidelbergCement’s Cement and Aggregate Operations in Belgium and the Netherlands. “Sagrex is taking a leading role in the ecological transition of the building materials sector in Belgium and the Netherlands and is implementing a wide range of strict measures to limit its environmental footprint.”
