The CSC issued its annual report for the year 2021.
2021 was the fifth exciting year for the Concrete Sustainability Council since launching its certification system for responsibly sourced concrete in January 2017.
2021 was still impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic challenges, however the CSC continued awarding many CSC-certifications for concrete and its supply-chain and experienced a 40% increase compared to 2020.
This year was also marked by some proud achievements. The new CSC Version 2.1 was successfully launched in January 2021 and the recognition was renewed in different Green Building Labels. The new CSC R-Module for recycling concrete has started to gain more interest and 11 plants were rewarded with this add on Module. The CSC welcomed also the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association NRMCA as the new Regional System Operator for the USA.
The CSC fifth Annual Report gives an overview of the development of the CSC and the CSC certifications until year end 2021.
Our Annual Report is another tool to monitor and evaluate the progress in CSC certifications and assure quality in a transparent manner. The results of the certifications performed in 2021 with CSC system version 2.1 were monitored and evaluated and are shared in this report. Insights gained through the evaluation process will be used for future improvements of the CSC certification system.
